A Witches Reading List

As a witch we never actually master the Craft, that's what it is called practice. We are actually not worshipers but practitioners. Part of that practice is expanding our minds because that expands the other parts of our body and soul. Reading is the ultimate expansion of the mind. So for you and your mind I have gathered some reading material if you have no quite figured everything out. There's stuff in here for everyone so c'mon!

  • Drawing Down the Moon by  Margot Adler
  • Aradia, the Gospel of Witches by  Charles Leland (Aradia is said to be the daughter of the moon Goddess Diana - there's a whole sect of witches who live in Italy that practice "Steghe" or "La Vecchia" and reading about this is absolutely fascinating. If there's any book on this list I recommend more than another it is this one. Leland is an author where you want to read all his books!)
  • The Teen Spellbook by Jamie Wood
  • The Witches Bible Complete by Stewart and Janet Farrar
  • Altars Made Easy by Peg Streep
  • The Golden Bough by  Sir James George Frazier
  • Encyclopedia of Herbs by Scott Cunningham (Read anything by Scott Cunningham if you can, he's fabulous.)
  • Pagan Europe by Nigel Pennick
  • Wicca By Scott Cunningham
  • The Craft by Dorothy Morrison
  • The Barbarian Conquest by  Peter Wells
  • Moon Lore by Elizabeth Pepper
  • Spellcraft for Teens by Gwinevere Rain (This one is the best those little ones just starting out on their Path).
  • Night Battles by  Carlos Ginzburg
  • The Green Man by John Mathews
  • The Everything Wicca and Witchcraft Book by Marian Singer (If you're still in the beginner stages)
  • Green Witchcraft by Ann Moura (Aoumiel) (There are 2 more books in this series but start with this one, if you like it find the others)
  • The Real Witches Garden by Kate West
  • Rites and Riots by  Bob Pegg
  • A Druids Herbal by Ellen Evert Hopman (I just started this book and I can't put it down)
  • The Encyclopedia of Witchcraft by Judika Illes (The thickest book I've ever seen on Witchcraft and the information here is fascinating. So much to go through you'll be reading this one for years.)

Here's a list of readings I found online that I am just dying to get into. If you head over to the Artistic Witch Blog she has on her list of books to read some of the ones that I do (no commentary though) but also this long list of internet reading resources. I love it. I'm going to throw in a couple of my own down at the bottom as well.

Here's a few of mine to add to the list:

Now this isn't a reading resource exactly but it is a calendar with every holiday sacred to every sect under the "pagan" umbrella. You can print out (for free) a calendar with moon phases, holidays, important birthdays and death anneversaries of famous pagans, ect all at: http://pagancalendar.co.uk

Well, you guys have plenty of homework, go fourth and read! The come back and tell me one or two interesting things you've learned. Go on now....
